So you’ve found the perfect person to spend the rest of your life with. The hard part is over! Now all you need to do is figure out how to propose.
While it may seem like a small detail in a long-lived marriage, every bride or groom still wants to get the proposal just right. After all, it marks the start of a lifetime commitment to each other. Sometimes it can be a struggle to come up with the grand gesture that lives up to expectations. But it doesn’t need to be so complicated. This summer the AlyKat crew had the honor of helping an innovative guest pop the question in a very romantic and memorable way.
It all started when the gentleman chartered a day cruise. He spoke with First Mate Kia and discussed potential destinations, and post-proposal champagne celebration. The two collaborated in secret to ensure the event would go off without a hitch.
When the day arrived, crystal clear and breezy, the AlyKat sailed toward Jamestown RI. As they approached Jamestown, AlyKat anchored off of nearby Dutch Island. Captain Al and the couple boarded the dingy and dropped the couple off at a secluded beach on the island. It turns out that the hopeful suitor had packed not only a bag with water bottles, but a ring! When the dingy returned to pick them up the two were engaged.
I’m sure their romantic surprise catamaran charter will be a proposal story that is shared not only at the wedding, but with family for years to come.
